Steele Frey
Founder & CEO, Central Coast Sports Commission
Steele brings 11 years of specialized experience in developing and advancing sports tourism on California’s Central Coast. Before founding the Central Coast Sports Commission in 2024, he led the business development department at Sports Academy, a premier private sports complex and professional training facility in Ventura County. In that role, Steele excelled in facilitating inbound events, tours, and retreats that seamlessly combined functional sports programs—such as performance and skill training, sports medicine, and cognitive development—with personalized destination experiences encompassing hospitality, leisure, culture, and entertainment.
His deep passion for creating unique, memorable visitor experiences while delivering tangible functional outcomes inspired him to establish the sports commission. Steele’s vision is to scale these successful initiatives regionally, enhancing the Central Coast’s appeal as a top sports tourism destination and driving economic and community benefits through tailored sports and adventure travel opportunities.
